Engine 102 and 202 are twins, in 2002 old Engine 201 (E-One/GMC) was scheduled to be replaced and the order had been placed with Pierce when Engine 101 (Southern Coach Custom) was heavily damaged in a traffic accident, an option was exercised and two identical engines were purchased. Engine 102 and 202 were received in January 2003 along with Rescue 1 and after being carefully equipped entered service in June of 2003. Each engine is equipped exactly the same and every year in January the two unit swap numbers because the engine at Station 1 (102) runs two to three times the calls the engine at Station 2 does – this swap allows us to keep equal usage on both apparatus. Both engine carry 1500 of 4-inch supply line, 4 pre-connected 1 ¾-inch attack lines, 2 pre-connected 2 ½ -inch attack lines, a trash line in the front bumper, and 1 ¾-inch high-rise pack. A complete complement of EMS gear supports the rescue capability which includes Amkus rescue system (cutters, spreaders and rams), Paratech airbags, & Paratech shoring.
