1982 Atlas - Ford LTS 9000 "Big Foot"

1500 GPM Waterous Pump

1500 gallon water tank

7.5 KW Generator

300 gpm portable pump

Big Foot was delivered by Atlas as a 2500 gallon pumper tanker during a time when the water distribution system in the Thomas Drive Service area was very spotty. During the early years of service Big Foot was critical to operations through out the County as the largest pumper/tanker in service. As the area has grown the water distribution system has become very comprehensive and the need for a Tanker diminished. In 1996 the original tank was replaced with a 1500 gallon poly tank and the unit moved to a dual pumper / hazardous material support roll. With the delivery of the state regional hazardous material vehicle and trailers Engine has taken on a primary water supply role again. In January 2007, Big Foot was invited to audition for CMTv’s Trick My Truck – Chief Walker and Capt Howard made the cross country drive to Joplin Mo for the audition – 56 MPH out and back (205 governed speed). Though not selected for the 2007 season Big Foot’s audition tape remains on file for later seasons if the show is renewed.
