Engine 301 was purchased by the Bay Point Community for Thomas Drive when in 1983 Thomas Drive agreed to assume responsibility for delivery of fire services in the Bay Point Community. From 1970 to 1983 Bay Point had provided it own protection through the Bay Point Volunteer Fire Department as part of its regional development order. Engine 301 was initially housed in the fire station at the Bay Point Delwood Beach Road entrance until Station 1, 2913 Thomas Drive, was completed in 2003; then the Bay Point station was closed and Engine 301 was transferred to our Holiday Drive Station which was renumbered and Station 3.
