Panama City Beach is located in Bay County along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. With 500 acres of land zoned for recreational use our community is a top vacation destination for hundreds of thousands of tourists each year. The population demographic consists of 9,500 year round residents and swelling as high as 90,000 with July’s tourism traffic. This commercial base provides approximately 12,000 jobs 4,000 of which are within the retail and personal service sectors

 

The Bay county school district as three facilities within Panama City Beach which are protected by TDVFD. A high School, a middle school, and an elementary school can all be found within city limits. Our services protect over 20,000 hotel, motel and condominium units as well

 

The city was incorporated in 1977 with a city charter following in 1978. City government consists of a City Council which is made up of five (5) members elected at-large from each of the four (4) wards and a Mayor who is elected at-large. The government of Panama City Beach provides the usual city services such as refuse, water, and roads in addition to beaches, parks and other recreational facilities.
